Everyone’s talking about Facebook commerce

We’ve seen a lot online recently about the merits (and pitfalls) of selling through Facebook (f-commerce), so we thought we’d put together a round-up of some of the more interesting things we’ve come across.

What will hyper local mobile ads mean for service businesses?

According to a recent report, it seems Facebook is looking into the possibility of using mobile phone location data to allow real time location-specific advertising. Coupled with Facebook Exchange (a real-time ad system where visitors to third-party websites can be shown real-time bid ads related to their web browsing when they return to Facebook), this could mean super targeted advertising based on previous internet searches as well as the user’s physical location.

Can Facebook commerce work for retailers?

We spoke to journalist Graham Charlton over at Econsultancy about whether Facebook commerce has a future. Wes say yes, it certainly does for small and service businesses… What do you think?
