Here at BookingBug HQ we’ve made it our mission to ensure we provide our users with the most advanced, easy-to-use booking, scheduling and appointment platform available. We know our users want to be able to use BookingBug on the move, from any mobile device, through your browser or via a dedicated app – so following lots of valuable feedback (thank you!) we’ve been working hard on a complete overhaul of our iOS and Android mobile apps.

So what’s new?

In essence, the whole entire application is new. We scrapped the old one and started again. So here goes – welcome to the completely new and improved BookingBug app with a host of new features, including:

  • New user friendly design
  • Ability to create new bookings
  • Ability to add new clients
  • View your client list and client information
  • Day calendar view
  • Email, phone and map links
  • Mark unpaid bookings as paid
  • Answers to booking questions included with booking details
  • Push notification for new bookings

We need your feedback!

This is the first version of our new iOS and Android app. We’ll be continuing to add new features and functionality on a rolling basis based on our users’ feedback and suggestions. It’s your feedback that will determine what our technical team will focus on building next so once you’ve had a play with the app please do head on over to our Community Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

    1. Would it have killed you to provide a direct link to download it from the app store?
    2. Same ridiculous first name sorting of client list. 
    3. Still haven’t figured out that if the Dashboard has a US time zone the date expressed as day/month/year instead of month/day/year is HIGHLY unwelcome and user-unfriendly?
    4. Initial load of a previous day in Day view of calendar failed to load a previous appointment. The previous appointment only loaded after viewing it from Month then returning to Day view.
    5. Split screen on Month view: if the day tapped in the monthly calendar does not yet have a BookingBug appointment, the bottom part of the screen shows the appointment found the last time another date that does have an appointment was tapped. For example, if today is 2/8/13 (US format, wink, wink) and there is no appointment yet but I did have one on Feb. 6, the bottom will show the appointment for 2/6/13 if that is the last date I tapped before tapping Feb. 8. The bottom part of the screen should be empty instead.
    6. Google calendar appointments are not showing up. If I want to view ALL of my appointments to get a realistic view of my activities, I must use my iPad’s basic Calendar app which, oddly enough, has no trouble loading my BookingBug calendar as well as all of my subscribed internet calendars. Fancy that! So in this regard, the new and improved BookingBug app is not helpful at all.
    7. You want feedback on this app posted to the forum? Aren’t all feedbacks charged at least one “vote” to the poster? So people who have used up their 3 votes can’t even give you said feedback? Seriously?

      Hi Corey – many thanks for the honest feedback. We do appreciate it and are really sorry to hear you feel this way. I’ve just spoken to the head of our tech team who has informed me they are already working on resolutions to address some of the points you raise here. We will keep you posted on progress and app updates.

        More issues.
        1. On app’s Month view, the tapping the refresh icon switches to List view.
        2. A new booking made from admin (not with this app) at 9:30 AM appears in List view in the app but the color of the Month view’s date cell remains unchanged 2.5 hours later, despite several taps of the refresh icon.

          Hi Corey – good news on both these fronts. The first issue you mention here is being fixed as we speak, and the second has been fixed already. Both these changes will be live as soon as the updated app is live in the app store.

    I like the fact that this one actually opens….. I do agree a link would have been a nice gesture in the article or email….. and I also like the first name client sorting as that’s how I address my clients…. an option would be nice tho, it would also be nice to be able to change the timezone ie how the DD/MM/YY is displayed…and 12 or 24 hour time

    i would also like the times i have blocked out on my pc (like when my biz is shut) to be blocked on the app…how am i supposed to remember which weekend im working when im out and about and my client rings to book in 3 months

    apart from that so far so good…like i said at least this one actually opens on my device….

      Hi Jess – thanks for the excellent constructive feedback. This is exactly what we’re looking for as we go through this beta testing process. The good news is we’re actually already making progress on the points you raise: 

      - We’ve already added the timezone dd/mm/yy options which will be available in the next version of the app as it’s approved in the app store in the next few days.

      - The day-block option is already on the tech team’s list for the next set of updates.

      - The 12 / 24 hour clock options is a great suggestion, I’ve passed that along to the powers that be.
