BookingBug partners with Goboko to guarantee long-term, scalable future for aircraft booking on the web

We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Goboko, the online aircraft booking site. The deal sees our cloud-based scheduling technology integrated into the Goboko community, enabling Goboko members to take and manage bookings, attract new clients and manage aircraft and pilot availability in a flexible, live and seamless way online.

Over the past eight years Goboko has become the go-to site for aircraft booking facilities on the web. Working with 10,000 registered pilots worldwide, it provides flying clubs and schools with an online platform to book planes and lessons. This partnership builds on those foundations and means that Goboko members can now benefit from a much broader range of online booking facilities, including:

  • Improved performance, scalability and reliability of the booking technology, built to cater for the needs of flying organisations of any size
  • Multiple availability schedules for groups with a range of different planes and instructors
  • Simple embedding of the real-time booking calendar within an organisation’s own website and/or Facebook page
  • The ability to take and manage deposits and payments when members or visiting pilots book online
  • Demand management with waiting list capabilities for the times when aircraft are not currently available
  • Integrated critical pilot information, such as license and medical renewal dates

“With increasing numbers of flying clubs and schools growing their online presence, Goboko faced the challenge of keeping up both with the increasing number of pilots that use our service daily as well as ongoing suggestions and requests for new and advanced functionality,” comments Mike Finta, Founder and Director of Goboko Ltd. “BookingBug’s booking platform has been designed from the ground up to provide exactly the level of flexible functionality we are looking to offer – and gives flying groups the freedom to use the technology in a way that best suits their organisation. As such, this partnership now means that our current and future members can benefit from the best of two worlds; BookingBug’s proven scheduling technology and Goboko’s heritage in the aviation sector.”

Mike Miller-Smith, chief executive of Aerobility, an organisation that provides ‘experience of a lifetime’ trial flying lessons and flight training to disabled and profoundly ill people, adds;  “Aerobility has been using Goboko since 2008 to coordinate the booking of our aircraft and instructors. It has been the backbone of our operational planning, and has reliably helped us to deliver our charitable objectives to the disabled community – changing the lives of disabled people every day using the magic of flight. These new additions to Goboko mean Aerobility can be more flexible then ever when it comes to promoting what we do, meaning more disabled people are going to be able to benefit from the work our organisation does.”

Glenn Shoosmith, CEO and founder of BookingBug adds; “With the rise of ubiquitous internet connectivity, social media and the mobile web, the way people search for and book services has completely changed. BookingBug is teaming up with Goboko to evolve with that change when it comes to aircraft booking. This deal not only gives people instant, live access to planes and lessons at the click of a button, it guarantees the long-term, scalable future for aircraft booking on the web.”
